Biographical information:
Since school, I've been...
Manager of a Radio Shack Franchise store that was owned by Ringgold Telephone Company in the 80’s. I worked at Holcomb Garden Center in East Ridge for almost 10 years. I have been with Ace Hardware for the past 10 years and managed the store in East Brainerd for about 7 years. I was reassigned to the Ace store in Lafayette in February of 2007. From RHS I went to Walker Tech for two years, getting a certificate in Electronics. I then began my twenty+ year quest to get a college degree. I graduated in 2003 from Covenant College by completing the Quest program.
My family:
I married Connie Holcomb (RHS ’82) in 1983. We have a son, Aaron (’89) and a daughter, Emily (’94).
Life experiences:
Being married to a woman who loves me no matter how I goof things up. She has allowed God’s grace to be shown through her to me in so many ways. Also, having children and seeing them grow into people with loving and caring hearts. Also, learning the difference between religion and Christianity.
My favorite things in school:
Goofing off, homeroom with Laura Henderson, the pass to the Post Office for LH and don’t forget the fries. Running around with Yates and Taylor.
My favorite things now:
Church at Woodland Park Baptist in Chattanooga, our house we moved into in 2003, doing things with my family. I am also enjoying watching the progress on the new Ace Hardware that is coming to Ringgold in 2008!
My favorite books, movies and music:
Most recently I have been reading "Wild At Heart" and "The Way of the Wild Heart" by John Eldridge. If you’ve ever considered fostering children you should read these books by David Pelzer: "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy", and "A Man Named Dave". I also enjoyed "The Greatest Generation." Movies… its hard to beat “Remember the Titans.” I still like a little country music; occasionally I listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd, and I just got The Eagles "Long Road Out Of Eden" cd. But mostly I enjoy contemporary Christian such as Casting Crowns, Big Daddy Weave, and Stephen Curtis Chapman.
I work at:
Ace Hardware of Lafayette, Inc.
